8th IPB Erasmus Week: 14-18 May 2012

O The 8th edition of the IPB Erasmus Week will take place from 14th to 18th May 2012. The meeting will include teaching seminars and workshops with the international administrative staff. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the “Alto Douro” Wine Region UNESCO World Heritage. Polytechnic Institute of Bragança awarded the ECTS Label by the European Commission

O The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) was one of the 12 higher education institutions and the only one in Portugal to be distinguished with the ECTS Label by the European Commission. This label acknowledges the quality of the information provided in terms of the degree programmes offered and the management of student mobility within the European Higher Education Area, namely through the Lifelong Learning Programme. The award ceremony will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 8 May 2012.
This award as well as the approval of the Erasmus Move on Train Consortium aiming at the organization of placement periods in European companies have proved that the IPB has been solidifying its internationalization project and also contributed to the promotion of students mobility in the European Higher Education Area. At the same time the IPB has been working thoroughly in order to strengthen its mobility projects involving both students and teaching staff with higher education institutions outside the European Union, namely in the Portuguese Speaking countries. In fact the numbers concerning outgoing and incoming mobility is above 700 a year.

The IPB offers Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC)

For the first time the IPB will offer Erasmus Intensive Language Courses aimed at European students undergoing mobility in Portugal. The first EILC of Portuguese Language and Culture will be in September, from the 5th to the 23rd. For further information on this topic please visit www.ipb.pt/eilc.

7th IPB Erasmus Week: 2-6 May 2011

The 7th edition of the IPB Erasmus Week will take place from 2nd to 6th May 2011. IPB will receive 88 teachers and staff from several European HEIs. The meeting will include teaching seminars for the IPB students. The official opening session will take place 3rd May, 9:30, at the School of Education (Meeting Room Conference, 1st floor). Course units in English

In the next academic year of 2010/2011, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança will offer a list of undergraduate and master course units in English, particularly devoted to Erasmus and other international students. These course units will be available for simultaneous attendance of international and Portuguese IPB students, in a real international academic atmosphere.

Intensive Programmes 2009/2010

The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança will organize five Intensive Programmes to be held during May to August 2010. An Erasmus Intensive Programme (IP) is a short programme of study (2-3 weeks of subject related work) which brings together students and staff from different European higher education institutions. This web page gives all the information concerning the IPs 2009/2010 at IPB.

IPB will receive 30 students from Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama in 2010/2011

As a result of an Erasmus-Mundus project, IPB will receive, during 2010/2011, 30 students from Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama. The undergraduate students will realize a study mobility of 6 to 10 months, in a similar way to the European Erasmus mobility. But the novelty arises for master students. The students from Central and South America will be IPB students during the whole duration of the master programmes.
